Yuko Suzuki

Yuko Suzuki is a New York City based Japanese artist from Nagoya, Japan. Since 1994, she has lived and worked in the United States, and her aesthetic is influenced by Japanese culture and art. Suzuki explores the sculptural form in ceramic by using stoneware and is deeply influenced by lantern lights. Her ceramic forms and structures require balance, creating the functional formation and contemporary design resulting in light appearing from all angles throughout the layered segments of a piece. The light in the sculpture is inspired by structures in nature therefore each piece is meticulously hand-crafted and one of a kind.
